Before and After School Care Program

The Before and After School Care Program operates at schools both before school begins and after school lets out as a childcare program.  The Before and After School Care Program has staff that will be on site to facilitate youth beginning at 6:00 a.m. until school starts and again after school lets out until 6:00pm.

Camp Fire will provide a traditional before/after-school program. Students will have an opportunity to select from free choice supervised activities in a relaxed atmosphere, taking into account that the children have been in a structured classroom all day and need time to relax and wind down in a warm and welcoming environment.

The before and after-school program will be augmented with Camp Fire USA’s outcome-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum for children and youth. Our Starflight, Adventure, Discovery and Teens in Action Programs are adaptable and deliverable in an after-school setting.  The program is designed to teach youth leadership, responsibility, decision-making and other valuable skills through a variety of projects centered on Camp Fires USA’s curriculum.   Youth participate in activities focusing on family and nature, safety, science and health, community service, art, music and drama. All curriculum projects are designed to fit the abilities and interests of each age level. Youth take very active roles in planning and leading their activities. We encourage family members, older youth and other adult mentors to interact with the children.  Recognition is also a strong component of the program. Children are recognized and rewarded for their accomplishments.
